Markus is currently responsible for MINI Plants Oxford and Plant Swindon. He has held various management positions within the BMW Group over the past two decades, including roles in project planning, technology control, assembly, logistics, and the strategy of production systems and digitalisation. In September 2021, he was appointed as the CEO of BMW (UK) Manufacturing Ltd and Swindon Pressings Ltd.
After his apprenticeship, Markus studied Industrial Engineering, specialising in product management, at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences. After joining BMW Group as a Doctoral Candidate, he spent four years studying part time in the UK at Cranfield University, successfully completing his PhD. Markus is also a keen football fan, and a season ticket holder for FC Bayern München.
