Since April 1st 2025 Médard Schoenmaeckers has been Chairman of the Management Board of Boehringer Ingelheim Deutschland GmbH. He joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 2020 as Global Head of Corporate Affairs and operates from the company's headquarters in Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany.
Prior to joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Médard spent 25 years in banking and life sciences. He was Head of Communications at HSBC and worked in leadership roles at Credit Suisse, Syngenta, and DSM-Firmenich. He started his career in banking with ABN Amro Bank, before switching to the world of communications in 2001, when he joined Hill & Knowlton.
Médard holds an MBA and an MSc in business economics from Nyenrode University and a Corporate Governance certification from INSEAD.
