Médard is the Country Managing Director Germany at Boehringer Ingelheim, a research-based leader in human pharma and animal health, active in 70 markets. Prior to joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Médard spent 25 years in banking and life sciences. He was Head of Communications at HSBC, based in London, and worked in executive leadership roles at Credit Suisse and Syngenta, both in Switzerland, and Royal DSM in the Netherlands. He started his career in banking with ABN Amro Bank in Amsterdam and London, before he switched to the world of communications in 2001, when he joined Hill & Knowlton in Amsterdam. In 2020, he returned to life sciences, initially setting up Corporate Affairs for Boehringer Ingelheim and since April 2025 leading its German business as Country Managing Director.
He holds an MBA and a Masters degree in business economics from Nyenrode University.
