Immigration policy for work and business in the UK continues to evolve rapidly. In this session we will consider the impact of the most recent changes in immigration law and policy, as well as future reforms.
Pam Sidhu, Partner & Head of Business Immigration at Wilkes, will provide an immigration update together with colleague Satinder Gill, senior specialist immigration barrister at Five Paper Chambers.
We will consider the latest position on topics including:
- Overview of immigration routes open to German businesses
- Update on UK sponsorship & increased importance of compliance
- Expansion of right-to-work obligations for employers from 1st October 2026
- Update on non-sponsorship routes, such as visitors & interns.
- Costs of immigration
- New settlement rules for workers
There will be an approximate 25-minute presentation, followed by consideration of a practical case study. As part of the presentation and case study, we will look at how we have navigated solutions for many German businesses on both short- and long-term projects in the UK. There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers
