One year after his election we will analyse the opportunities and challenges for businesses in Europe and beyond, especially in light of trade barriers and tariffs, geopolitical tensions, and the impacts on supply chains and economic growth.
Please join us on 13 November 2025 at 15.00 hrs UK time for an in-depth conversation with George Pollack from Signum Global, who will analyse the impact on the US market, while his colleague Nicholas FitzRoy will give a perspective on the European market. They will be joined by Dr Christoph Schemionek from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Washington DC, who will share the views of the business world, and especially the international / German business community in the US.
Nico previously worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit where he focused on political and economic forecasting, and headed up the firm’s business risk practice. He was also a senior political risk analyst for G4S Risk Consulting. Nico holds an MSc in International Relations from Bristol University, as well as an MSc in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Economics, both from Birkbeck, University of London.
George brings a uniquely bipartisan perspective to his work, having served as a Legislative Assistant for Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY) and as a Legal Fellow for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). On Capitol Hill, he worked on a diverse policy portfolio, including the Middle East, intellectual property, and emerging issues like cryptocurrency and cannabis reform. George received his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wesleyan.
Dr. Christoph Schemionek is the President and CEO of the German Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Washington, DC, and President of the Representative of German Industry and Trade (RGIT). As RGIT’s World Bank Liaison, he also supported German companies to successfully navigate the World Bank’s procurement process.
